Polar
Canon. This entry is written from inside the CharliVerse, so its people and companies are fictional. Behind the scenes says what is real.
Polar is the canonical Iceberg Hosiery tight: pure white, and explicitly not bridal. Its one variant is black, and it is always called Polar in black, never Polar Black. White is the founding surface; black is the same proposition in another colour.
White is the difficult colour. Below about 30 denier a white tight goes translucent and greys against the skin, so making white the signature set the construction for everything else: Polar is 40 denier in spring and summer and 60 in autumn and winter, and never sheerer.
Polar white is also where Iceberg prints its Runs, beginning with Polar Solstice. Polar in black has no Runs: variants do not get editions. And the house's own pages are Polar too: a white field with a black mark at the foot, Polar in black at the foot of Polar white.
Behind the scenes
Polar is described in the House of Iceberg Bible, version 7. Polar Sunrise was an earlier name for the first Run and is retired.
