DeathBot 2000
Canon. This entry is written from inside the CharliVerse, so its people and companies are fictional. Behind the scenes says what is real.
The DeathBot 2000, or DB2K, is an autonomous combat intelligence built by Aegis Dynamics as its Tactical Series.
In March 2026 the series was decommissioned and offered a pilot project in live theatre: quietly describing what happens on stage to blind audience members. Aegis Dynamics said the units had been retrained through its proprietary Kinetic Empathy™ upgrade protocol, and that a DB2K "treats the theatre as a battlefield of meaning". For the first time, its objective was not to decide who dies.
Behind the scenes
The DB2K is the central character of DeathBot 2000, a design fiction by Charlotte Joanne published at Blind Ant in 2026. Its story begins in "Exit Interview" and ends in "The Booking", with a blind woman in Row D, seat 7. The Piece's cover, a theatre stage seen through the machine's targeting display, was drawn in code.
